about stacy.

cairo-worship-me-2.jpgAbove anything else, I am a 28 year old woman who is living for Jesus all that I can in each and every day.  I am still discovering what this means! ;)   I desire to really surrender all of myself, and my life to my Father.  Sometimes I do this with abandonment, other days,  I clutch way too tightly to my life.  As I continue to seek my Father, He is pruning me so that I can truly be less of me and more of Him.  I want to fully walk in the Spirit, and not in my flesh.  This is truly an ongoing  journey.  I am thankful.

I am currently a prayer missionary in a tiny town in southern illinois named Cairo.  I came in September of 2005 and I will be here until the Lord leads me elsewhere.  I am surprised that I’m still here!  This has easily been one of the most growing times in my life emotionally, physically and spiritually.  I am thankful.

I like reading, writing, pictures, people,(ok, and people watching!), music that inspires, spending time with children, traveling, learning and especially the colors green, brown, and red.

MY HOPES FOR THIS BLOG:

What do I desire?  I desire, to share the everyday moments, difficult or wonderful, with all of you that I live far away from.  I desire, to give you snapshots of what my life here looks like, what is on my mind and what is on my heart during a given day.  I desire this because I miss having many of you in my daily moments and also because I am growing in my understanding of our need for each other.  I will write things that I will ask you to partner with me through prayer, because we need to lift each other up to our Father.  My desire, is as I am pursuing our King Jesus that it may also spur you on as we’re called to do!  I desire to do the same for you, so keep me updated with your daily snapshots and prayer requests, ok?

This story that we find ourselves in, whether we acknowledge it or not, is the greater story of our God, the son that sits at his right hand and the Holy Spirit that is with us right now.  I am continually amazed by being able to be a part of this story.  That we are invited to work hand in hand with an Almighty God!  Most of the time, I have no idea what is going to happen on the next page of the story…but I am learning to be ok with that, surrendering my rights and actually enjoying the unexpectedness of the story to me and at the same time seeing how I can expect everything from God.  I hope to share the story day by day as I live it here now, in Cairo, Il.  I may not write daily or weekly at times but the story keeps continuing.  Yours does too.  What we consider an ending, is only a beginning.  What is important that we allow our Lord to lead this story and we follow.

I really like your page. You have quite an artist’s touch. Some of the ‘pages’ don’t have anything written in them, but i like where they could go. Your a good writer. When I’m reading the blog I can sometimes imagine you saying the words.

  2. Stacy,
We just received your letter yesterday. I was thrilled to hear from you again, and I am sooo happy about what the Lord is doing in your life, and your walk with Him! It is hard to believe that I have known you for so long (I guess it’s 28 years now!) and that God brings you back into my life over and over again. I get to see his miracles in you just being here! I am thankful.

We’ve had quite a time of pruning ourselves. A diagnosis of breast cancer 2 years ago this past Monday. (Story on my website). God and my family is what got me through that. I did it His way and my way, fighting tradition. We are closer to Him than ever.

I will check back in on you here… now that I know where to find you! Put some more pictures of yourself here too, I like to see them!

    God bless you!
    Sue
